Breastfeeding & Feeding Support

At Ark Valley Preschool, we honor the many ways families nourish their children. Whether breastfeeding, chestfeeding, formula feeding, or a combination, we are here to support your family’s feeding journey with respect, flexibility, and care.

Breastfeeding Support

  • Designated Space: A private, comfortable area is available for parents and staff who wish to breastfeed or pump at school.

  • Staff Training: All teachers receive annual training in breastfeeding support, so they can handle milk storage, feeding, and comfort with confidence.

  • Ongoing Partnership: We welcome feedback from nursing parents to ensure our practices align with your family’s needs.

Feeding with Love

  • Bottle Feeding: Staff use responsive feeding practices — following the child’s cues, pacing feeds, and creating calm, nurturing moments.

  • Formula & Expressed Milk: Both are welcomed, and we maintain clear labeling and safe storage practices to ensure your child’s milk is handled with care.

  • Transition to Solids: Families guide us in honoring cultural traditions, preferences, and pacing for solid food introduction.

Why It Matters

Feeding is more than nourishment — it’s about connection, comfort, and belonging. By supporting families in their chosen feeding practices, we:

  • Build trust between home and school.

  • Create consistency for children in routines.

  • Nurture strong, secure attachments.

Our Commitment

Every child deserves to be fed with love and respect. Every family deserves to feel supported in their choices. At AVP, feeding time is never just about food — it’s about relationships, joy, and care.
